From the archives

With over 300 shows under our belt and a lot of life left in us, we thought it would be awesome to look for some pretty old shows from way back when.

And we found three shows from the early days in 2008. They were shows six, seven and eight and were first aired on Dublin's Digital Hub FM, where the show premiered on february 15th 2008.

Enjoy the footage

The Amur Leopard - almost extinct in the wild yet euthanised at Copenhagen Zoo

In a recent New York times article one could read: "This spring, the Copenhagen Zoo put down, by lethal injection, two leopard cubs, about 2 years old, whose genes were already overrepresented in the collective zoo population. Leopards are considered near threatened by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature. But as part of a breeding plan to maintain the genetic diversity of this species, the cubs’ fate was determined before they were born."

WILD TIME's Thomas Janak spoke with cat rescuer/lover Lucy Snowleopard about this case and the uncertain future of these big cats.

Breed Specific Legislation - outdated and unjust

LISTEN HERE In effect since August 12th 1991, the Breed Specific Legislation (known as Dangerous Dogs Act in Northern Ireland) has claimed many victims, mostly innocent ones. It has been shown over and over again that targeting a breed for its look or "apparent bad character" simply does not work. With the recent death/execution of Lennox the time has come to declare the BSL obsolete and outdated. Wild Time went to a peaceful protest in Wolverhampton!
